About Jeremy

Hey, I’m Jeremy! — a developer, business owner, and dad from San Diego. I like fixing things, building systems, and making stuff work better. I’ve fixed everything from grandma’s toaster to building multi-tenant WordPress setups powering hundreds of sites. My journey has taken me from selling stereo equipment as a teenager to electrical engineering and defense work, and eventually into entrepreneurship.

Early Career

My love of fixing things led me to electrical engineering at UC San Diego. After college, I spent 15 years in the defense industry building and testing hardware and eventually into management leading a team of 8 engineers. It was challenging, rewarding, and I learned a ton about solving problems and how to run a successful organization.

While working my corporate job, I started helping my wife and business partner Becky with her growing business, Modern Direct Seller, handling the tech side during nights and weekends. That’s where I first started working with WordPress, around 2014.

Business Journey

In 2020, after some big changes at work (and right as the world shut down for COVID), I left the corporate world to go all-in on our business. A year later, we launched, Oh My Hi, as a project for one of Modern Direct Seller’s corporate consulting clients. Later we expanded into the broader social seller market and eventually small business owners, authors and creators. These days, Oh My Hi is my primary focus.

My wife Becky and I built these companies together, combining her sales and marketing brilliance with my love of tech and systems. It’s been quite the journey and taught me the keys to having a lasting business: actually caring about your customers, treating them how you would want to be treated, and having sustainable revenue streams.

Building with AI

This is the newest chapter. I started seriously integrating AI into our businesses in April 2026, and within weeks it had grown from small experiments into real tools and workflows saving us time every day in our business.

Today, AI is doing real work for us. A daily automated pipeline pulls our financial data and writes a snapshot row to a spreadsheet that feeds our dashboards. Custom skills know our brand voice and help draft ad copy, email campaigns, and contracts. MCP server integrations connect AI agents to our actual business tools (Stripe, Google Workspace, ClickUp, our WordPress sites) so the agent can act on our systems, not just talk about them.

This isn’t really new for me. I’ve always liked figuring out how to make annoying and tedious processes run better. AI just makes that possible in a lot more places.

I write about this work on the blog and on the AI workflows in our business page.

Family, Hobbies and Volunteering

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me coaching my kids’ baseball and softball teams, volunteering with the Hoop Shoot at our local Elks Lodge, or cheering for the Padres (I’m a San Diego native through and through).

I share what I’ve learned including the technical lessons, business decisions, and the occasional screw up. My goal: help you build a better business without wasting time or money.
